papo letterpress is an experimental letterpress printing studio, founded in 2013 by Philadelphia-native Gregory Paone. The early years were devoted exclusively to the acquisition and restoration of a 100-year-old iron press, and the curation of a vintage, foundry and hand-carved wood type collection.

The objectives of the studio have since evolved to include a number of proprietary initiatives investigating the potential of typography to promote intellectual and aesthetic growth. Typographic exploration in advocacy of children’s literacy and formal interpretation of classical music, are two key missions currently carried by the studio.
